The integrated IR illuminator consists of 24 diodes (850 nm) and can light up the scene over a distance up to 30 meters. Thanks to the function of intelligent IR lighting, the images are free from overexposure caused by close or reflective objects.
Intelligent IR lighting virtually eliminates overexposure
The application of Sony Effio-E digital signal processor (DSP) extends the possibilities of image processing and in combination with the advanced image sensor used in the camera allows to achieve horizontal video resolution of 500 TVL (color) and 530 TVL (B&W). The processor also provides advanced video processing features and OSD, allows for defining motion detection zones and privacy masks.
High resolution of the video allows for enlargement of any part of the image without significant loss of quality; additionally, 2D - NR (noise reduction) minimizes blur effects, saving sharp edges of objects.
Image quality in various lighting is improved by ATR function (Adaptive Tone Reproduction) which lowers the contrast between the darkest and brightest areas and allows to see details in the both parts of the image.

The main functions:
- IRC - mechanically switching IR filter. The filter is used in Day-Night cameras. In color mode the filter cuts IR spectrum that would distort actual colors.
- OSD - displays the camera menu on a display screen, eliminating the need to implement a lot of switches/potentiometers on the rear panel of the camera.
- ATW (Auto Tracing White Balance) - continuously adjusts camera color balance in accordance with any change in color temperature, allowing the camera to capture color as seen by the human eye.
- AWB (Auto White Balance) - white color is automatically detected and used for camera color balance. It is suitable for environments with small changes of color temperature, the other ones require to use the above listed ATW function .
- Anti-CR (Anti-Color Rolling) - reduction of rotating color changes caused by flickering sources of light (e.g. fluorescent lamps), which cannot be eliminated by external synchronization with the power network (usually due to powering the camera with DC power source).
- AWC (Auto White Color/Circuit) - adjustment of the white balance to a "standard" white area/object. The calibration should be repeated when the lighting conditions have been changed.
- AGC (Automatic Gain Control) - maintains a constant output level, increasing the signal to noise ratio. The picture is more clear but less natural. Without this function (AGC OFF) the image is generally more natural, but more grainy.
- EE/AI (Electronic Shutter) - in EE mode it adapts the exposure time to the light intensity. In AI mode, the exposure time is constant (1/60 or 1/50 s) and level of incident light intensity is regulated by auto-iris lens (Auto Iris).
- BLC (Backlight Compensation) - automatically adjusts the level of bright light in order to provide more detail in dark areas. A good example is the image a human's face in the background of the sun shining from behind.
- HLC (High Light Compensation) - masks extremely bright areas such as car headlights.
- Privacy zones - masking areas that should be not visible.
- AES (Auto Electronic Shutter) - used to adjust the the exposure time to the light intensity (mostly with lens without AI function).
- DNR (Digital Noise Reduction) - circuit and/or algorithm which reduces noise, thus providing a higher signal to noise ratio. 3D DNR compares subsequent image frames. If, as a result of this analysis, it finds a difference between the images resulting from noise, it removes the very small grains, replacing them with average values.
- Sense-Up - enhancement of camera sensitivity by slow shutter speed. Cameras with Sense-Up function can be used in very low light, which is especially useful when operating at night.
- Internal/external synchronization - internal (from its local generator) or external (usually from AC power line). External synchronization allows to synchronize multiple cameras without the use of an additional signal generator.
The camera uses OSD menu. Adjustment of all parameters of the camera image is performed by using the controller on the cable. Due to multiple functions and settings, a very practical feature is setup memory, allowing the installer to save several options, even before the final calibration at the camera site. The camera menu is quite extensive but user-friendly, with easy and intuitive navigation.
The installer/user can change virtually every parameter of this camera, ranging from the video standard, through such parameters like AWB, ES, BLC, ... to the settings connected with DWDR (Digital Wide Dynamic Range) and Day/Night function (delay time, thresholds).
