Terra DM-316 R817121 is a "slave" module for decoding DVB-T MPEG2 and H.264 signals (TS) and converting them to analog TV channels (PAL). It is used in MMH-3000 headends (mounted in base units UC-380 R81700). The module directly cooperates with a "master" module, e.g. RT-316 R81707 (receiver), decoding programs from the transport stream. The programs are the part of the same DVB-T multiplex which is received by the receiver.

Notice: MPEG2/H264 TS means the transport stream used between modules of the MMH-3000 headend. It is not the DVB-T signal that comes from an terrestrial antenna to the RT-316 receiver. The RT-316 receiver and DM-316 decoder are DVB-T MPEG-2 and MPEG-4/H.264 compliant.

The master/slave pair (RT-316 R81707 / DM-316 R817121) can distribute in analog form all channels included in a digital DVB-T multiplex.

The set(s) of the modules are especially demanded by hotels, hospitals, sanatoriums etc. with multiple analog televisions in use. In such cases it is uneconomical to replace all the receivers to DVB-T ones, or even install individual digital tuners. The MMH-3000 headend is a good alternative to the high costs of replacing all the TV sets or buying many set-top boxes.
