During selection of connectors we should choose right version and proper impedance - 75 ohm (50 ohm are also available) and right diameter of the bush cooperating with shielding of relevant cable. Clamp-type connectors are the most popular kind. There can be met soldered and screwed types of connectors as well.

Commonly used, especially in the cases of short connections, are also the cheap cables terminated with RCA plugs, together with RCA to BNC adapters (however, for the reason of low quality of most RCA-type plugs, we don't recommend this kind of solution).
Mostly, in CCTV devices, BNC connectors are used. So the cables should be terminated with BNC connectors. For the reason that we don't always have BNC connectors fitting relevant cable available or we don't have special crimper, an intermediate solution is ending cable with F-type connector and using F to BNC adapter E8285. This solution is used by around 70% of installers. However, we strongly recommend crimped-type connectors. The most universal crimper (see the table) for the stated connectors and cables is the model HT-336C E8002. The following tools can also be useful: HT-224 E8007- key for assembling F-type connectors, and isolation stripper HT-332 E8003

In some systems, D-Sub type connectors are also used - to transmit RGB video signal - (popular Canon standard). They are also used in multiplexers and some quads as alarm connectors.

In fiber optic technology, SC and ST type connectors are used. In the case of new installations, we recommend SC connectors.
